Who We Are
Rural Alaska Fuel Services is a not-for-profit corporation organized to assist in the operation and maintenance of rural Alaskan bulk fuel storage facilities. RAFS works with operators to maintain facilities, focus on safety and environmental concerns and help ensure sustainable operations, both physically and financially.
Why RAFS?
Denali Commission has implemented sustainability requirements for Bulk Fuel Facilities to reduce chance of environmental damage through proper training.
For those communities receiving Denali Commission bulk grant funding, a condition of the grant was tank farm operators had to meet sustainability requirements. These requirements included meeting all state and federal regulatory requirements and demonstrating financial sustainability. Rural Alaska Fuel Services was created to help rural tank farm operators meet these requirements.
